Not only an accomplished writer and performer, Jim has ventured out into the world of musical instrument retail with his patented designed CapoKeyRing. As a guitarist Jim often found himself in those impromptu guitar sessions with a guitar minus his capo. Not one to be caught short, Jim designed a unique capo so compact that it would fit on the one thing he had on his person at all times...his key's. Marshall Amps loved the product so much the put their name on and a strong relationship was forged between this enigmatic song writer and the iconic amp giants Marshall. The Marshall CapoKeyRing is now sold all over the world and this partnership has moved into some of Jim's other musical related events such as The Scottish Music Show, the worlds first not for profit music trade and public show designed to help boost the music retail industry.
Jim has recorded three albums to date and has collaborated with some of the most
respected artists in recent memory, such as Grammy winning guitarist David Grier
and fellow Grammy winning performer Rob Ickes. Jim has also collaborated with legendary
mandolin player John Reischman and his first album, "Passing Place" with then band
GreenGoblin was endorsed by banjo and slide guitar guru, Tony Furtado who said, "These
guys have pushed away the borders to create an album that moves from moody and introspective
to stormy and rocking!" Jim picked up a surprise gig at Glastonbury Music Festival
on his first ever visit which inspired him to write the classic track, "One in the
Same" from the, "Down By the Riverside" album, Jim's first solo project. "One in
